Lesson Learned
March 29, 2009Yesterday, my wife Katie and I went to my little cousin’s 1st birthday party. On the way to Fayetteville, God decided to teach me a lesson in patience. If any of you reading this has every driven to Fayetteville going over the Ridge, you are going to know exactly what I am talking about. Well, first off we were running a little late anyway because we forgot to buy Anabeth a gift. After we had left the house, Katie had realized that she forgot her contacts which she really needs (first example). So, we drove to TJ Max to buy her books (yes very educational….I know). We stopped back by the house on the way to Fayetteville to get the contacts. Then, we hit every red light possible on the way there (second example). After we got through Shelbyville, we finally reached the Ridge. There are only 2 opportunities to pass someone on the Ridge, and God placed a car coming the opposite direction during both of those opportunities (third example). By the time we got to the party venue, we were twenty minutes late (which was no big deal). I just do not like to be late to things. Anyway, the point is that God showed me that patience is an amazing thing. I took all of those lessons in about a 45 minute period in stride. I learned to go with the flow, and everything will happen the way it is meant to happen.
This was a gross day.
